The Yoga Sutra of Patanjali: An 8 week series on Yoga Philosophy, Meditation & The Yogic Mind
The Yoga Sutra of Patanjali is the most essential text in Yoga Philosophy. Written approximately 2000 years ago, The Yoga Sutra is a comprehensive exposition of the yogic spiritual path. These teachings – which layout a path to end suffering through cultivating lives of presence, freedom, purpose, and non-attachment – are as relevant today as when The Yoga Sutra was written. The Yoga Sutra focuses largely on the cultivation and clarification of the human mind & heart, as a means to Self-Realization.

Winter Weekend Yoga Immersion:The Yoga of Desire, Harnessing the Soul’s Power to Shape our Destiny
As is the desire, so I our will,
As is the will, so is our deed,
As is the deed, so is our destiny
-Brihadaranyaka Upanishad
According to the yogic tradition, our lives are the result of our deepest desires. Both the longing to realize our fullest potential and the conditioned patterns of thought and behavior that keep us stuck, are based in desire. In many spiritual traditions, desire is considered to be a primary cause of suffering or even a sin. Yet all living beings have desire- it is the force that compels our actions, calling us to live fully. The tantric yoga traditions recognize that desire can be channeled for the realization of our soul’s purpose, but it can also be a source of suffering. The key is to clarify what we really want, and work skillfully and selflessly toward its realization.

Because these postures are often moved through quickly, their subtle and mysterious nature is often overlooked.
In this workshop we will dissect and reintegrate each movement with plenty of time for Q & A.
